An adjustment is gentle, specific force delivered to a Vertebral Subluxation to correct neurological interference. Different techniques may be utilized for an adjustment, depending on the Chiropractor's preference and the needs of the patient. |
The purpose of the adjustment is simple. A good analogy would be a garden hose and a rock. Consider the hose a nerve and the water flowing in it a nerve impulse. If a rock happens to move and obstructs the hose, the water will flow poorly out the other end, or will not even flow at all. The same theory can be applied to the nervous system. If nerve impulses are obstructed to vital organs and glands, they begin to function improperly, and may produce a state of "dis-ease". An adjustment, in physiologic terms, removes the blockage of nerve impulses caused by subluxation or other stresses to allow the body to function naturally. |
